Whether you run a restaurant, participate in farmer's markets, or endeavor to create a neighborhood coop, pork chorizo is an ingredient that can set your establishment or family dinner menu apart from the average options. Here are a few important questions to ask when choosing a supplier of pork chorizo to work with:

Where Are the Ingredients Sourced From?

It is important to know not only where the pork but also the seasoning and bulking ingredients are sourced from when working directly with a supplier. If you do not understand where they source their ingredients from, you can't be confident in their quality assurance measures.

Make sure that you know exactly where the main ingredients in the pork chorizo you decide to purchase comes from, as you will likely be asked about sources by media and customers as time goes on. If you do not know where the ingredients are sourced from, you cannot possibly assure customers that your products are safe and preferable to other options.

What Recipe Options Are Available?

Traditional pork chorizo is great, but there are different recipes available to consider when it comes to serving your customers. There is Spanish chorizo which features ingredients such as paprika and cumin, then there is Italian chorizo which is popular for its vinegar content.

If your customers like one option, chances are that they will like others. If you want to appear as if you offer the latest and greatest, you need to rely on your chorizo supplier to offer different recipes to tap into as time goes on. At the very least, your supplier should offer simple recipes and complementary ingredients that can be used to differentiate your product from competitors.

Can the Product Be Ordered off Schedule?

You should be able to easily create a delivery schedule for the pork chorizo that you need in any given week or month, but what if you decide to promote a chorizo meal special, or what if you run out of chorizo before expected during any given period? You should be able to place an order between scheduled deliveries when necessary.

If not, you may end up having to cancel meu items or deal with an empty shelf until your next shipment arrives. This can upset customers and even result in customers never returning to your place of business again. In the end, it is important to make sure that you never run out of chorizo for the sake of your customers, even if orders between scheduled deliveries are necessary.
